While in Fiji..

Go Snorkeling or Diving ~ snorkeling and diving are excellent. Some islands even have spectacular snorkeling right off the beach. You can get certification if you need it.

Go Hiking ~ Most islands have good hiking, e.g. Wayalailai where you can climb to the top to see the sun rise, or hike the length of the island and cross the spit to Waya. Guides are available, or you can go alone.

Be Creative ~ Almost all islands will have someone who can teach basket or bracelet weaving, using palm fronds and banana leaves.

Ask the locals ~ to take you through their plantation and show you the bananas, papaya, mangoes, breadfruit, casava and other fruits and vegetables growing for your eating pleasure.

Attend a Kava Ceremony ~ There are regular kava ceremonies on many islands. Guests are invited to join. On smaller and more intimate islands it would be rude to refuse.

The Fiji Islands ~ an attractive Wedding Destination...

More and more couples plan their weddings; renewal of vows and honeymoons to the Fiji Islands..

Why? Simply read some of the following reasons, why The Fiji Islands is such an attractive destination...

A choice of beautiful surrounding and locations ~ Without doubt the azure oceans and pristine beaches are the major attraction to plan your wedding around. Yet sparking waterfalls, tropical forests or even a resort provide a number of settings, each one as magnificent as the last. A mix of colonial and modern architecture provide wedding and reception options.

Outstanding photo opportunites ~ With heavenly sunsets and scenery out of a movie Fiji provides an amazing backdrop for wedding photos.

The weather ~ Enjoy an ideal South Sea environment and have your wedding under sparkling skies. Some areas of Fiji can go for six months without a drop of rain.

Arrive to your wedding in traditional Fijian style ~ Have a group of Fijian warriors carry you above their heads in the traditional Fijian way on a platform to the ceremony or the bride taken in a traditional bili bili to the wedding..

Have an entire resort to yourself ~ In Fiji wedding parties are often able to take over whole resorts allowing total privacy.

Stress free ~ Fiji provides an idyllic escape from the pressure of organising the wedding at home. Most resorts have a series of wedding packages from which to choose.

Culture ~ With its beautiful traditions of song and dance, Fijian culture can be a beautiful part of your ceremony from the marvel of fire walking to the beautiful voices of the people around you.

First class cuisine ~ Don't forget the wonderful food! Local specialities combined with a mix of international flavours provide first class cuisine. Once again your choice from formal dinners to casual dining or even a picnic by the beach.

Group travel discount ~ Wedding parties will frequently qualify for group travel discounts. Your guests will be able to enjoy a holiday at a much better rate than they could buy on their own as this provides a fantastic excuse for your guests to indulge in a holiday break.

Keeping your wedding small and intimate ~ Fiji can provide a great way to keep the intimacy of the occasion. Invitations for a wedding in Fiji can be readily made without necessarily being accepted. This reduces your overall costs.

A variety of activities ~ If lying in the sun all day doesn't appeal, a whole range of activities are available, particularly in the water.

A wide choice of accommodation ~  A range of accommodation choices to suit everyone's budget from fabulous first class resorts to more family or budget orientated accommodation.

No travel worries ~ The stunning setting comes without travel worries. No dangerous animals or insects and free from diseases such as malaria, the beautiful scenery with its swaying palms add to the romance of your visit.

Couples can choose to have everything from a simple ceremony to a complete island feast.

Turtle Island

Turtle Island is an island resort in the Yasawa islands
that is gaining notoriety for its celebrity honeymooners....

Once Discovered, Never Forgotten

As the Hollywood version of Paradise come to life,
Turtle Island is a fortuitous and unique example of life imitating art!

Today, the five-star resort caters to couples exclusively,
except for a few designated "family weeks" each year.

Turtle's ambience and amenities are designed for couples who enjoy each other's company -
such as romantic picnics for two, intimate moonlight dinners at seaside, horseback riding at dawn, relaxing and sensual massages.

These pleasures are enhanced by the warmth and gracious pampering of Turtle's Fijian staff,
who delight in sharing their island

During your stay on Turtle, your home will be one of only 14 "bures", traditional, two-room, thatched cottages built by Fijian craftsmen.
Each is spacious, comfortable and filled with light.

Gentle trade winds carry the scent of tropical blossoms through the breezy interiors.

Hand woven 21-foot vaulted ceilings arch over the wheat coloured walls and mellow wood or terra cotta floors.

Louvred windows open to the tranquil waters of the Blue Lagoon.
Each suite provides separate sleeping, dressing, lounging and bathing areas.

All bures have an outdoor verandah for napping on the day bed.

Every night is a dinner party.

Sumptuous cuisine and an unlimited supply of imported liquours and champagne are served beachside under the stars.

The meals are exquisite and our remote dining sites are always unique...

Enjoy a romantic picnic where a luncheon of lobster or other island delicacies will be dropped off for you by boat or cart.

Picnics are a favorite among Turtle Island guests.

You may reserve one of the many private beaches or settle on the beach just outside your private "bure".

Either way, you are sure to enjoy a sumptuous picnic lunch complete with your choice of wine, champagne or other favorite beverage.

At Turtle you have so many choices:
Go horseback riding..
Have a champagne picnic on the beach..
Take a nap in a hammock strung between two coconut palms..
Hike into the jungle hillsides..
Or visit the market on a nearby island.

As you would expect on an island, every imaginable water activity is available.

Try the sea kayaks.
The snorkeling is some of the best in the world;
or you can explore the underwater wonders scuba diving.
Swim to one of the large pontoons which serve as floating islands in the lagoon.

At Turtle Island.......

The island is blessed with 14 white,
naturally occurring sandy beaches,
8 of which are available for private picnics.

Some naturally occurring palm fringed beaches
Some are adjacent to the living and dining areas,
and some are totally isolated, bounded by high cliffs or set within a cove.

Your time on Turtle is your own,
whether you want to stroll the beaches,
wade in the turquoise waters,
cruise from island to island on one of our sailboats or snorkel or scuba with a Fijian guide.
